options

costanoa is an eco lodge and campground that has a little something for everyone.  there are rooms in the main lodge with king sized beds or doubles, and bathrooms in every room.  there are also the douglas fir cabins, with fire places, kings or doubles, high ceilings, and decks with adirondack chairs and swings.  another option is to stay in a canvas wood-framed tent bungalows (like the one in the little photo to the left).  they are outfitted with queen beds, electricity, heated blankets, and good quality but simple linens, towels, and robes.  the bungalows come in different areas around the property, cypress being closest to the lodge and including daily maid service, outer pine being the farthest, and pine village being in the middle of the action.

the cabins, tent bungalows, and camping sites share common heated bathrooms and showers called comfort stations.  they are much nicer then normal campground bathrooms and include saunas and other high quality amenities.  please keep in mind that if you stay in a cabin or bungalow, you will have to leave your bedroom and go outside to access the comfort stations.

there are no tvs in any rooms.  instead there are miles upon miles of trails for you to explore, new friends to make, family to catch up with, and music to make. there is also wifi.

"what if i don't want to have four walls, a floor and ceiling?"

totally fine with us.  costanoa has campgrounds and rv parking if you're bringing your tent or trailer. all tent and rv sites are booked through koa here: http://koa.com/campgrounds/santa-cruz-north.

  • rv parking $55/night
  • tent with electricity and water hookups $52.50/night
  • tent without hookups $27.50/night

costanoa also has biking and hiking trails, yoga, kayaking, its own stable of horses for riding and its own farm for growing fresh fruits and veggies to put in their food.  there is also a general store for extra things you may have forgotten at home such as ice cream, white wine, slippers, and other things you can't get through the weekend without.

if you are looking to rent a car for your stay, we recommend avis in downtown berkeley or avis in downtown oakland (both walking distance from bart) for the best rates.  for a special discounted rated, use avis AWD code A972200.  book through their website, by calling them, or through hotwire.com.

for our friends traveling from afar: if you would like to link up with some others and go in on a car rental together, please contact giti directly and she will put you all in touch.

for our friends who live in the bay area, traveling but not from as far: if you have room in your car to offer a lovely east coaster a ride to pescadero, please let us know!
